Introduction:
Over the past week or so, I have been doing twist outs - which is how I mainly style my hair. There are times when my hair looks fierce, times when I am simply happy with it, or times when it's a complete hair fail. No matter the degree of happiness you have with the hair style you're rocking, I feel you should always own your hair. So what it didn't come out quite the way you meant it to. Stay positive, stand tall, and flaunt it. That is what this page is all about. I will be posting pics from hair styles I have, whether I was feeling my self, or if my hair just didn't quite make it to it's final destination. Enjoy, and let me know what you think.
Happy Healthy Hair!
6.15.13
Most naturals know that in order to maintain your hair, you have to set your hair at night. This doesn't always mean re-braiding or re-twisting your hair, but however you prepare your hair the night before, it should always be covered with a satin cap or bonnet or you should sleep on a satin pillow case. Why satin? A cotton scarf, cap, or pillow case will dry out your hair. A satin cap, bonnet, or pillow case will help your hair retain the moisture. Well, I didn't set my hair for two days in a row. I just put my cap on my hair and went. On Friday, 6.7.13, this is how my hair ended up:
Usually when I wear my scarf, it's to push my hair back, but thanks to Evelyn's YouTube videos, (which can be found here and here under naturallycurlydotcom) I thought to make some bangs with my scarf. I liked it, and so did one of my co-workers. By the time Sunday 6.9.13 came around, I hadn't put a scarf on my head, nor did I set it to attempt any type of style. I had dinner plans and needed to do something, so I reverted back to the old faithful style of my little afro puff. I used As I Am Double Butter Cream Rich Daily Moisturizer and Jamaican Black Castor Oil. My hair felt so soft and it stayed that way all night.
It isn't the most stylish, but it worked for my evening. While I may not use the As I Am Double Butter Cream on a daily use, I do like it for the lazy days I tend to have. It's easy and it's quick. 'Nuff said.
Happy Healthy Hair, and Goodnight!
