The Bean Kids

Introduction:

For the past few years I have been trying to figure out a hair care regimen for my daughter LolaBean. She is mixed with Mexican and African-American, so her hair has a much different curl pattern than mine. In addition to that, her hair is much thinner, so the heavy oils and grease that I used were too heavy for her hair. I started when she was two. Fast forward a few years and we have a new addition to our family. Enter GiddyBean. He has similar hair to his big sister, but it seems a bit thinner, drier, and when left alone knots into almost dreads. He is only a year and a half and it takes me 30 minutes to an hour to comb out his hair. I still haven't found anything that consistently keeps my children's curl pattern, but I will not give up. This page is dedicated to the kiddies. Learning what does and doesn't work for their hair. Learning how to braid and style their hair. For the many amusing conversations I have with them; LolaBean can carry an entire conversation herself at 5 years old, and GiddyBean is starting to follow suit. I am excited to share the experience.
